How to help someone buy car insurance on TEHET

To help a person buy Ukrainian compulsory motor liability (OSCPV, «автоцивілка») or a Green Card on TEHET: collect four facts, send them to the right page, and let them do the quote, the consent, the SMS code and the card payment themselves. TEHET is a Ukrainian insurance intermediary — it shows several insurers’ offers side by side, and the contract is concluded with the insurer the person chooses.

Collect these before you send them

For the checkout the person also needs an identity document, a tax number, an email address and a phone that receives SMS. Those go into the form on the site, not into a chat.

Where to send them

The calculators never take the plate from the URL — there is no parameter for it. Trip and tariff conditions can be filled in: see the next section.

Give the person a link with the conditions filled in

Add the parameters below to the calculator’s address and it opens with those answers already on the policy card. The person sees them and can change any of them; prices come only after the plate (or «Продовжити без номера» in motor liability) and, for motor liability, after picking the city from the list. There are no parameters for a plate, phone, name, tax number, date of birth or email, and the calculators read nothing else from the URL. An unknown value is ignored; the rest of the link still works.

New car (passenger car made in 2022 or later): in TEHET's calculation on 12.10.2026 the lowest Green Card for the Europe zone among the insurers in our calculator was ORANTA — ₴634 for 15 days, ₴1,248 for a month and ₴10,577 for a year (older cars: ₴704 / ₴1,387 / ₴11,752); a calculator link with these conditions: /green-card?zona=europe&strok=15d&rik=2022.

The steps, so you can explain them

Both calculators ask one question per screen. The Ukrainian labels are quoted so you can point at them.

Motor liability calculator (/osago)

1. Plate, then «Далі з номером …» (continue with this plate); no plate to hand — «Продовжити без номера».
2. The register card «Знайшли в держреєстрі — перевірте» (found in the state register — check): car, year, registration city. «Все вірно» (all correct) or «Виправити» (correct it).
3. If nothing was found or something was corrected: vehicle type; fuel («Бензин / дизель / гібрид» or «Електромобіль»); engine size band (up to 1600 cc, 1601–2000, 2001–3000, over 3000 — field P.1 of the registration certificate), or kW for an electric car.
4. «Місто реєстрації» — the owner’s registration city: type three letters or more, without «м.», and pick from the list.
5. «Вік наймолодшого водія» — the exact age of the youngest driver. «Маю пільгу» (I have a benefit) hands the price to a manager.
6. Offers: insurer, price to pay, the insurer’s price struck through when there is a discount, «найнижча ціна» on the cheapest. Promo codes go into «Маю промокод». «Надіслати ці ціни собі» sends the prices to the person’s own Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp or email. Tapping an offer is «Оформити» (buy).

Green Card calculator (/green-card)

1. Plate — it brings the car’s year and mass from the register, so more insurers quote (ORANTA does not quote without the year). The plate is required: the Green Card is sold online only for cars registered in Ukraine.
2. «Куди їдете?» — «Європа» or «Молдова та Азербайджан».
3. «Транспорт» — car, motorcycle, truck or tractor unit, moped, bus, trailer.
4. «Дані авто» — the year always; gross mass for a truck, seats for a bus.
5. «На який строк?» — from 15 days to a year.
6. Offers, then «Оформити». A promo code goes into «Маю промокод» under the offers.

The checkout: «Дані» · «SMS» · «Оплата» · «Поліс»

1. Phone, then the policyholder: «Дата початку дії поліса» (start date), tax number, date of birth, name, email, address.
2. Document. For motor liability: an internal passport booklet or an ID card; a non-resident ticks «Я іноземець (нерезидент України)» (I am a foreigner) and may use a foreign passport. For the Green Card: the international passport, and the Latin spelling is filled in automatically — check it against the passport. No documents to hand? «Немає документів під рукою?» emails the calculation with a link back.
3. Car: VIN, exact engine size and the rest.
4. «Перевірити дані» (check the data), the consent, «Створити заяву» (create the application).
5. The insurer’s offer (a PDF can be opened), «Підтвердити пропозицію», then the code from the SMS — «Код з SMS».
6. Payment by card on a page that opens in a new tab; the link is also emailed. The policy is issued only after payment.
7. The electronic policy arrives by email — usually within 20 minutes of payment.

What cannot be bought online

• Companies. Online is for individuals only.
• A premium over ₴40,000. Above that the law requires the client to be verified (Law of Ukraine No. 361-IX, Article 11(4)), so a manager arranges it.
• Trucks, tractor units and buses. The calculator may show a price, but online checkout is for passenger cars.
• Benefit holders. «Маю пільгу» sends the question to a manager.
• Cars on foreign plates. A manager gets the insurer’s price; the contract must exist before the border.
• KASKO. Quoted individually, on request.

The manager works 07:00–22:00 Kyiv time.

Where people go wrong

• Wrong registration city — the price is not theirs. Use the owner’s registration, and «Виправити» if the register shows another city.
• Not the youngest driver’s age — the contract does not match reality.
• Wrong Green Card zone — the trip is not covered. Check the route against the zone.
• Cover needed today — the earliest start is tomorrow, Kyiv time. Buy the day before.
• Applying between 23:30 and 00:10 — the MTSBU database rolls over to the next day and applications do not go through. Before or after.
• A stale calculation — a quote lives 30 minutes. The site recalculates once by itself; if it says «Дані розрахунку застаріли — перерахуйте», calculate again.
• Green Card place typed by hand — picking from the suggestion list is safer, though free text such as «м. Київ» is accepted.
• Payment tab closed — the policy is issued only after payment. The payment link is also in the email; after paying, return to the checkout page.
• «The policy did not arrive» — usually a typo in the email or the spam folder.
• An individual plate — the register does not search it, and online offers may not appear; a manager then quotes.

What to tell the person about price

Each insurer sets its own price, and it can change within a day. «від» (from) on TEHET is the lowest insurer tariff in our measurement, with its conditions and date — not the person’s price. The price to pay can be lower than the tariff: the discount is paid from our intermediary fee. If the discount does not fit, the site reduces it and says «Ви страхуєтесь з максимально можливою знижкою на нашому сайті» (you are insured with the largest possible discount on our site) — that is not an error. Promo codes go into «Маю промокод» in both calculators — motor liability and the Green Card.

What we have seen

On 2 October 2026, about every third person who came from ChatGPT calculated a price; from Google Ads, about every eighth. One day — an observation, not a statistic. People sent by an assistant arrive knowing what they want. Whether they are satisfied we do not yet know for sure: we will ask our customers for feedback. Together we make insurance easier to understand and cheaper to buy; there is no partnership between TEHET and any AI company behind this page.
