TEHET opens live insurance prices to AI via MCP

Written by Demyd Sudarenko — product, platform, strategy; and Anton Sudarenko — insurance offer configuration.

In short: since 16 October 2026 TEHET has run an MCP price service — an AI assistant can ask for live, indicative prices of Ukrainian compulsory motor liability (OSCPV) and the Green Card from the insurers TEHET works with, without a plate and without personal data. The person buys on the site. Українською

Connect an assistant: the MCP guide

What the service is

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol through which an AI assistant asks an outside service for data. Until now an assistant asked «how much is motor liability in Zhytomyr» searched old articles and retold other people's numbers. Now it can ask TEHET directly and get the prices insurers have just given — with the time, the label «indicative» and a link where to buy.

The server was published in the official MCP Registry on 16 October 2026 (registry entry). The server is at https://mcp.tehet.com.ua/mcp. Any assistant that works with remote MCP servers can connect to it.

What it can be asked

  • get_oscpv_price — Indicative prices of Ukrainian compulsory motor liability (OSCPV) from each insurer that quotes, for conditions typed in by hand — no plate.
  • get_green_card_price — Indicative Green Card prices by zone, term and vehicle category, without a plate.
  • get_fuel_prices — Average retail fuel prices: the EU-27 and the United Kingdom in euros per litre, or Ukraine in hryvnias, each with its source, licence and date.
  • get_service_status — Whether online quoting of each product works right now, from TEHET's public status snapshot. No arguments.

For motor liability the assistant asks what our calculator asks without a plate: the kind of vehicle, engine size (or kW for an electric car), the owner's registration city, the youngest driver's age and the term — a year or six months. For the Green Card: the zone («Europe» or «Moldova and Azerbaijan»), a term from 15 days to a year, and the vehicle category.

Where the prices come from, and why «indicative»

Not from a table or an old sweep: insurers calculate them at the moment of the request, through the same connections as the calculator on the site. Every answer carries the time of the calculation, the label «indicative» and a link to TEHET's calculator. Indicative, because the final price is set at checkout: with the plate, the exact data and the start date it can differ.

If a city name is ambiguous (Ukraine has many places with the same name), the server does not guess: it returns up to 10 candidates, the assistant asks the person, and the calculation is repeated with the chosen one.

No plate, no personal data

The server does not accept a plate, a name, a phone number, a tax number or a date of birth — its requests have no such fields. No personal data is requested. Quotes are not saved and cannot be turned into a purchase; only anonymised technical logs are kept. The limits count requests by a hashed, anonymised IP address.

A passport, a tax number and the SMS code are not needed by the assistant and do not belong in a chat. They are entered only in the checkout form on the site.

What MCP cannot do

  • Buy a policy. Purchase through MCP is closed. The assistant gives a link; the person completes and pays on the site.
  • Price by plate. The service has no vehicle lookup by plate.
  • Foreign plates, companies, benefit holders, KASKO. A manager on the site handles these.

Limits and errors

Without signing in — 30 requests per hour from one address. An assistant signed in through OAuth has no hourly limit. When something goes wrong the server says what:

  • CITY_SELECTION_REQUIRED — Several places have this name. `error.candidates` holds up to 10 labels, `error.field` is "place". Show the person the candidates, let them choose, and call again with the chosen label in `place`, exactly as given. Do not guess and do not price every candidate.
  • CITY_NOT_FOUND — No place in Ukraine matches. `error.candidates` is empty. Ask for the spelling and the region (oblast), as on the registration certificate, and try again.
  • NO_OFFERS — No insurer returned a price for these conditions right now. For a Green Card priced without a plate this also happens when the one supplier that prices it is unavailable. Say so plainly, suggest trying later, and give the person `error.buyUrl` — the calculator on the site may still quote with the plate.
  • RATE_LIMITED — Too many requests. `error.retryAfter` is the wait in seconds. Wait that long before the next call; do not retry in a loop.

What comes next

Purchase through MCP will open only after it has been tested end to end; we name no date. New tools and rule changes will be added to this article as separate sections, dated.

Questions and answers

What is TEHET's MCP price service?

A server on the open Model Context Protocol through which an AI assistant that supports remote MCP servers gets indicative prices of Ukrainian motor liability and the Green Card from insurers. No plate, no personal data, no purchase.

Can a person buy a policy through an AI assistant?

No. The assistant shows prices and gives a link to TEHET's calculator. The quote by plate, the consent, the SMS code and the payment are done by the person on the site.

Why are the prices indicative?

They are live — insurers calculate them at the moment of the request — but the final price is set at checkout, with the plate and the person's data, and can differ.

Does TEHET keep what an assistant asks?

No personal data is requested. Quotes are not saved and cannot be turned into a purchase; only anonymised technical logs are kept. The limits count requests by a hashed, anonymised IP address.
